Dallas Cowboys: Week 3 – Week 8
The Dallas Cowboys have gone 3-3 the last 6 games (the 3 losses came back to back to back)… and now find themselves in 2nd place in the NFC East, chasing the Philadelphia Eagles [6-2].
Week 3: DAL 52 vs SF 42
This game was over EARLY, but the Cowboys allowed 22 points in the 4th QTR and saw QB Brock Purdy throw for a record 507 yards.
Week 4: DAL 17 vs OAK 9
A low scoring affair… game seemed well in hand at halftime [up 14-3], but Cowboys offense failed to show up in the second half – allowing the Raiders to think the had a chance.
Week 5: PHI 23 vs DAL 3
Offensively, the Cowboys were AWFUL… PAINFUL game to watch.
Week 6: NYG 20 vs DAL 17
Certain victory was snatched from the Dallas Cowboys… with the score being 17-17, the Cowboys had more than 30 seconds on the clock as they lined up for a 40 yards FG – the Cowboys failed to get the snap off in time and lost in overtime.
Week 7: DAL 15 vs SEA 17
A late sack of Seahawks QB Sam Howell brought hope to a floundering Cowboys team… as the Cowboys closed in on FG range, QB Dak Prescott tossed his 3rd INT on the day and erased any hope of a much needed win.
Week 8: ARI 13 vs DAL 28
The Dallas Cowboys found their winning ways vs an Arizona Cardinals team… the Cowboys more than double the Cardinals score and offensive output.
Mid-point of the season: 5-3
The offense has been (for the most part) a pleasant surprise thus far… ranked 6th overall in scoring [23.9 points per game]. In large part, that success is tied to the passing game… QB Dak Prescott is ranked 2nd in the league with a QG RTG of 85.6 [2151 yards, 54.85% completion rate, 15 TDs and 12 INTs]. The recipients of all those yards and TDs go to WR Xavier Worthy [725 yards and 6 TDs] and CeeDee Lamb [550 yards and 4 TDs]. The offensive line has only allowed Dak to be sacked 12 times and open running lanes for HB Rachaad White [667 yards, 4.42 AVG with 1 TD].
The defense is ranked 14th overall in scoring… the unit has recorded 29 sacks, 40 tackles for a loss & 10 INTs. The sack leader is LE Kwity Paye [7], tackles for a loss leader is ROLB Malik Harrison [10] and INT leader is CB Trevon Diggs [3].
Special Teams has shinned… WR/KR Rashid Shaheed has 3 kick returns for TDs and leads the league is average [32.56] while K Brandon Aubrey has been perfect [17 of 17 FGs and 18 of 18 XPs].
Week 10 Match-up: DAL vs PHI
This is a CRITICAL game for the NFC East Divisional Champs [2024]… the Cowboys have VERY little room for error if they desire to defend and capture a 2nd straight Divisional title. While a victory of the Philadelphia Eagle in week 10 gives the Cowboys a tie atop the NFC East… a loss would essentially have the Cowboys back 3 games with 7 games remaining (the Eagles would OWN the tie breaker).
It’s unclear, at this point, who will be under center for Philadelphia when the Cowboys and Eagles face one another week 10… QB Jalen Hurts is listed as probable (nursing a Strained Shoulder). Regardless, the Cowboys should be focused on stopping HB Saquon Barkley – who has 841 yards (ranked 2nd in the GGL) and 5 TD on the season. If the Cowboys can count on QB Dak Prescott managing the game without giving the ball away [Dak tossed 3 INTs week 5 when these two teams face one anouther] they should have a shot. |

Dallas Cowboys: Week 2 – WAS 3 vs DAL 36 |
Week 2 – WAS 3 vs DAL 36
Game Recap: The Dallas Cowboys led from start to finish… the opening kickoff was returned for a touchdown by WR/KR Rashid Shaheed [98 yards]. The tale of the tape, BIG PLAYS were prevalent for the Cowboys… the kick return for a touchdown, 4 INTs by the defense and 2 LONG strikes through the air [QB Dak Prescott connected with WR CeeDee Lamb on an 87 yard touchdown and also hit WR Xavier Worthy on a 60 yard touchdown]. The offensive line kept Dak clean and opened lanes for HB Rashaad White [20 carries for 103 yards].
WR/KR Rashid Shaheed – the opening kickoff was returned 98 yards for a TD!
WR CeeDee Lamb – This 87 yard STRIKE put the Cowboys ahead 23-3 in the 3rd QTR!
The Good - Cowboys:
QB Dak Prescott… 16 of 26 for 315 yards with 2 TDs [not sacked].
WR Xavier Worthy… 7 receptions for 130 yards and a TD.
WR CeeDee Lamb… 4 receptions for 124 yards and a TD.
BLOCKING… 28 pancakes and ZERO sacks allowed.
FS Malik Hooker… 5 tackles 1 deflection and 2 INTs [1 allowed catch].
K Brandon Aubrey… 5 of 5 FGs and 3 XPs [3 touchbacks].
The Bad – Cowboys:
Visited the Redzone twice and came away with 2 FGs… would like to see more Redzone visits and convert those opportunities into TDs.
The Good - Redskins:
P J.K. Scott… 7 punts for 345 yards [49.29 avg] – 2 of those punts were inside the 20.
The Bad – Redskins:
QB Jayden Daniels… Only completed 35% of his passes and threw 4 INTs..
Looking Ahead:
The Dallas Cowboys [2-0] travel to San Francisco, to face the winless 49ers [0-2] week 3! It seems a bit early to make any assumption about this match-up regardless of record. The Cowboys defense will be tested by what should be a well balanced offense capable of controlling the game on the ground [HB Christian McCaffrey] or though the air [QB Brock Purdy]. Though QB Dak Prescott hasn’t been sacked yet this season, the offensive line will be tested… LE Nick Bosa already has 4 sacks this season! |

Dallas Cowboys: Week 1 – DAL 23 vs SD 21 |
GGL 2025 – Regular Season
Week 1 – DAL 23 vs SD 21
Game Recap: The defending Super Bowl Champions, San Diego Chargers, had the Dallas Cowboys right where they wanted them… with the clock ticking on 3rd and long rookie QB Jamal Castille failed to run the clock down. This mistake left their opponent with :35 seconds on the clock vs :05 seconds. On 2nd down, QB Dak Prescott found TE Jake Ferguson for a 53 yard connection – setting up the winning FG.
The Good - Cowboys:
QB Dak Prescott… 14 of 23 for 317 yards with 2 TDs [not sacked].
TE Jake Ferguson… 3 receptions for 116 yards and a TD [53 yard rection at the end to set up the winning FG].
WR CeeDee Lamb… 5 receptions for 114 yards and a TD.
BLOCKING… 29 pancakes and ZERO sacks allowed.
LE Kwity Paye… 6 tackles [1 tackle for a low] and a sack.
CB Trevon Diggs… 6 tackles and 3 deflections [3 catches allowed].
The Bad – Cowboys:
HB Rachaad White… 20 carries for 56 yards [long run of 14 yards]
WR/KR/PR Rashid Shaheed… no catches [from the slot] and lost a fumble on a kick return.
The Good - Chargers:
QB Jamar Castille… 15 of 32 for 177 yards and a TD [sacked 3 times.
MLB Daiyan Henley… 8 tackles [1 tackle for a loss].
ROLB Josh Sweat… 8 tackles [2 tackles for a loss].
The Bad – Chargers:
LT Joe Alt… 3 pancakes and allowed 2 sacks [as many as he allowed ALL of last season].
Looking Ahead:
The Dallas Cowboys [1-0] play host to their divisional rival, the Washington Redskins [0-1], week 2! The Cowboys and Redskins actually split their head to head match ups last season before the Cowboys exited the Redskins in the Wild Card playoff game – Cowboys won 26-3. I suspect the Cowboys will look to disrupt Sophomore QB Jayden Daniels as much as they can while stopping the run – if Daniels can beat the home team more power to him! |

2025 Draft Review
4.03 ROLB Dave Dubose – By all accounts, Dave Dubose was a workout warrior prior to the draft and had a SOLID combine… took a beating via the SKEW [SPD -1 / STR -4 / AGI -2], but with Rookie and Sophomore progression should be serviceable beyond a back-up in 2 seasons.
4.13 Noah Shenault – Ranked as one of the better HBs in this draft class [in a weak class mind you] it was a pleasant surprise to see Noah Shenault fall to the 4th round. Decent skew [STR +2 / AWR +3 / ACC +3] ensures a spot as the back-up and possibly the 3rd down back on occasions.
4.26 CB Manu Prado – Stayed true to scouting and likely finds himself as the Dime CB and possible fighting for time as the Nickel CB on occasions. For Manu Prado to be an eventual starter he’ll need some TLC [Training Camp].
4.31 RG Ben Pianalto – Doubtful Ben Pianalto ever advances beyond a life time back-up… doesn’t help that SKEW totally DESTROYED most of his attributes.
6.29 RE Joseph Ludwig – No doubt an interesting project… Joseph Ludwig has a unique combination of rare strength [86] and acceleration [82], a little TLC applied to his speed [68] and agility [73] could result in an effective RE.
7.02 HB Troy Duvernay – simply drafted with the hope of him becoming the Draft GEM.
7.09 HB Keke Olonilua – simply drafted with the hope of him becoming the Draft GEM.
2025 Training Camp
Quarterback Drill: QB Justin Fields [AWR +2 to 68 / THA +1 to 81]
Running Back Drill: HB Rachaad White [SPD +1 to 91 / AGI +1 to 88 / ACC +1 to 93]
Receiver Drill: WR CeeDee Lamb [SPD +1 to 91 / AGI +1 to 95 / ACC +1 to 92]
Offensive Trenches Drill: RT Tyler Guyton [SPD +1 to 69 / STR +1 to 88 / ACC +1 to 77]
Defensive Trenches Drill: DT Mazi Smith [SPD +1 to 75 / STR +1 to 95 / ACC +1 to 78]
Linebacker Drill: MLB Trevin Wallace [STR +1 to 72 / AGI +1 to 83 / ACC +1 to 90]
Secondary Drill: CB Mica Parsons [SPD +1 to 92 / AGI +1 to 92 / ACC +1 to 96]
Kicking Drill: N/A
Restructure
The Dallas Cowboys have come to terms with RG Tyler Smith… though the Dallas Cowboys had multiple trade offers – the team decided to keep Tyler Smith.
The contract RESTRUCTURE breaks down like this: Salary = $42.460M Bonus = $11.040M Years = 7 1st year of deal = $3.360M
2025 Restructure (purchased)
CB Micha Parsons – Salary = $61.74M / Bonus = $13.58M / Years = 7 [1st year = $5.02M]
2025 Post Draft Free Agency
The Dallas Cowboys were in need of a center to meet roster requirements… they sign C Doug Kramer to a 3 year deal, Salay = $1.710M and Bonus = $.180M [1st year = $.500M].
In a MIX-UP, Doug Kramer jumped on a Delta flight that took him to Seattle Washington… though he has yet to show up in Dallas it’s understood he’ll be present before Preseason.

What We Know... When We Know It! |
What We Know... When We Know It!
These Free Agents seem a certainty to be joining America's Team!!!
DT Osa Odighizuwa – Solid depth behind DT Mazi Smith but will get playing time when / if the Cowboys use a 4-3 scheme. The contract being offered is a Salary of $55.000M / Bonus of $10.000M over 5 years.
Key Attributes: Age = 27 / SPD = 78 / STR = 85 / AWR = 87 / AGI = 68 / ACC = 83 / TAK = 86
RE Titus Leo – Solid depth behind RE Logan Hall and LE Kwity Paye [one of these two guys will likely be gone next season]. The contract being offered is a Salary of $15.000M / Bonus of $3.000M over 5 years.
Key Attributes: Age = 26 / SPD = 83 / STR = 70 / AGI = 75 / ACC = 92 / TAK = 70
RG Trey Smith: It’s not completely clear where Trey Smith will play [Right Guard… Left Guard… Right Tackle… or Center] – but wherever it is it’s gonna look SEXY! The contract being offered is a Salary of $175.000M / Bonus of $77.000M over 7 years.
Key Attributes: Age = 26 / SPD = 69 / STR = 95 / AWR = 90 / AGI = 69 / ACC = 75 / PBK = 83 / RBK = 92
WR Rashid Shaheed: Some will instantly say the price was WAY to HIGH for a slot Wide Receiver / Kick Returner… and I’d agree COMPLETELY. The contract being offered is a Salary of $140.000M / Bonus of $59.500M over 7 years.
Key Attributes: Age = 27 / SPD = 96 / AWR = 80 / AGI = 90 / ACC = 95 / CTH = 86 / KR = 88
QB Justin Fields: Some might see this as a reach and over spending… but, it’s possible Justin Fields is the eventual starting QB for America’s Team! Granted it’s a LONG shot… but with 4 possible Training Camps, Pre-seasons and playing time could he be serviceable [check back in 2 – 3 seasons]??? The contract being offered is a Salary of $57.400M / Bonus of $11.480M over 7 years.
Key Attributes: Age = 26 / AWR = 66 / THP = 91 / THA = 80
Still waiting to hear on the following:
SS Justin Reid
CB Benjamin St-Juste [ME]
CB Marco Wilson
QB Zach Wilson
There are rumors that the Dallas Cowboys might be in the market for a DT after hearing the Tennessee Titans might be looking to move / unload DT Keondre Coburn . |
